Nera Networks signs five-year frame agreement with Indian mobile operator Uninor
The agreement means Nera Networks will provide design, equipment and implementation- and operation services for parts of Uninors transmission network.
The equipment portion of the deliveries includes microwave radio configurations in the Evolution Series(TM), together with antennas and the Nera Networks network management system, NetMaster.
We are very satisfied that our products and services have met Uninors stringent requirements, says Nera Networks CEO Per Arne Henaes.
The agreement shows that we are competitive both on quality and price.
Deliveries are expected to start in second half 2010.
India is the worlds single biggest market for microwave radio, and with a mobile penetration of less than 40% Nera Networks sees further potential for its product portfolio in the country.
Uninor is owned by the Telenor Group (67.25%) and Unitech Group. Uninor launched its mobile services in India in December 2009.
